Hi, I'm Sophie, founder of Sophie Starley Massage Clinic. I am a fully-trained Soft Tissue & Sports Massage Therapist. I have a BSc Hons in Biomedical & Sport Science and Level 4 (soon to be 5) ITEC in Soft Tissue Therapy. I am a fully registered member of the FHT and STA aswell as being a certified 'Rock Doc' with Rock Tape.

 

I work with athletes and the general public on different concerns, from postural problems to sporting injuries and chronic migraines.  As a mother of two who enjoys weightlifting and spinning and has played hockey to a high level, I fully understand the incredible and varied benefits of Soft Tissue Therapy for myself and would highly recommend it to others.

My previous work experience within the medical arena allows me to draw on my clinical knowledge and apply this practically to my clients. When you come for an appointment with me, I will take a complete history, including any medical issues and details of any previous treatment you may have sought. You will receive a thorough assessment prior to starting any treatment plan. I will create a session tailored specifically for your needs. This could be to sort that 'niggle' out, preparation for competition or for injury assessment & treatment. I will use a range of techniques following discussion with you and will include an explanation of why I am proposing to use them, including soft tissue release, deep tissue massage and trigger pointing. I continuously update my knowledge to ensure the latest and most effective treatments are available to my clients, so that you leave feeling better than you did prior to your visit to the clinic.

All treatment plans are individualised and designed specifically for your needs. Levels of pain and length of time of symptoms may dictate how we proceed in order for you to achieve your goals.  I want to get to the bottom of why you are in pain or struggling to perform, rather than just treat the symptoms.
